Champions League 2015-16 Group Stage Draw

The UEFA Champions League 2015 -2016 Draw:

Group A: Real Madrid (ESP) will face PSG (FRA), Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR) and Malmoe (SWE). Real Madrid and PSG are the favourites to pass this group stage.

Group B: Manchester United could be happy at how they fared, as they return to the competition proper after the hiatus of last season, even though Wolfsburg was arguably the toughest opponent that they could have got from pot four. Louis Van Gaal, the manager, will return to his native Holland to face PSV Eindhoven and the club’s other opponents will be CSKA Moscow.

Group C: Atletico Madrid (ESP) will face Benfica (POR), Galatasaray (TUR) and Astana (KAZ). Atletico Madrid and Benfica are the favourites to pass this group stage.

Group D: Manchester City (ENG) face another tough task to get out of the group stage on Champions League drawing Juventus (ITA), Sevilla (ESP) and Borusia Monchengladbach (GER).

Group E: Barcelona (ESP) will face Bayern Leverkusen (GER), Roma (ITA) and Bate Borisov (BLR). Barcelona and Bayern Leverkusen are the favourites to pass this group stage.

Group F: Arsenal (ENG) are looking to advance into the knockout phase for the 16th season in succession and their hearts might have jumped when they were paired with Bayern  Munchen (GER) – who have eliminated them in two of the past three seasons. But the blow was softened when they subsequently drew Olympiakos (GRE) and Dinamo Zagreb (CRO). Arsenal have meet Olympiakos three times previously and on each occasion, they have lost the away tie, although it has always been the final fixture of the group when they have already qualified.

Group G: Chelsea (ENG) have a good record against Porto (POR) – they have never failed to score against them – while their group was completed by Dynamo Kiev (UKR) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (ISR).

Group H: Valencia (ESP) will face Zenit (RUS), Lyon (FRA) and Gent (BEL). There are no favourites on this group.
